Janette was born into a family who loved skiing, and that passion has influenced her whole life. With three brothers and a sister who raced at an international level they often skiied together as a family, and it was almost inevitable that Janette would also have the desire and the commitment to race.
Janette built up an incredibly strong background in alpine racing with 10 years of competition in the FIS World Cup. As a junior she represented Sweden in two world junior championships, in both downhill and slalom, soon moving on to win her first international FIS race in Norway and then to participate in her first World Cup race. She has participated in multiple Olympic Games and World Championships - representing her country with skill and dedication.
When traveling to race, Janette was one of the few racers on the circuit who would also make sure she had with her a pair of 'fat skis' so as to be able to take any opportunities to freeski between races. In 2007 Janette took the step away from racing to qualify as an internationally licensed personal trainer, and decided to balance this work with her love of freeskiing. She has since focused fully on filming and freeski competitions. This new stage of her career has led to great success, culminating last season with the overall win of the Nissan Freeride World Tour and being crowned Free Ride World Champion after her victory on the revered Bec Des Rosses at the World Tour final during the Verbier Extreme. This unforgettable season was strengthened even further with the opportunity to complete a solid film segment in the Winter Project's 'Anima'.
Janette is a true enthusiast when it comes to sport, having a passion for anything which challenges her, and enjoying whitewater kayaking, surfing, wakeboarding, running, mountain biking, hiking and climbing. But it is skiing that she loves most of all, and she loves it in so many different ways; 'training and racing between gates on an icy slope, fresh powder on a big mountain, having fun and jumping around in a fun park, free skiing on a slope, or just hanging with friends'. For Janette the 'perfect feeling' is just to be out in the fresh air, experiencing nature and exploring her limits.
